William Grefe Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree

The Film, Recording and Entertainment Council is pleased to announce that William Grefe is this year's Star Gala Lifetime Achievement Award honoree.  Credited with being one of the pioneers that brought the film industry to the area, Mr. Grefe has been writing, directing and producing movies and commercials in South Florida since 1963.  He has directed or produced more than 25 successful feature films, including James Bond "Live and Let Die" and the critically acclaimed Vietnam classic "Cease Fire".  He has also been the Chief Operating Officer for three film companies.  Grefe has directed commercials for General Motors, Whirlpool and Bacardi to mention a few.  His personal appearance is sought after by industry conventions and he is constantly speaking all around the world.  William Grefe is a true artist and businessman who has changed the face of the film industry in Florida.  Among some of his other accolades are:

The FREC Lifetime Achievement Award honors people that have contributed to the growth and success of the film, recording and entertainment industries in South Florida throughout their lives.  William Grefe is not only an obvious candidate for this award, but he is also this year's perfect choice.

This year's Star Gala reveres Entertainment's Golden Era, when the industry not only produced its most legendary singers, movie stars and entertainers, but also promoted involvement in the community and other issues. The Rat Pack was a staple at
South Florida recording studios, clubs, hotels and beaches.  It is only fitting that FREC should honor South Florida's dynamic Entertainment Industry professionals, who are committed to excellence and dedicated to enhancing their communities, while paying homage to a time when the Entertainment Industry discovered South Florida, prospered in America, and really participated in the Global industry community.
